Foel Fras race
An unexpectedly memorable outing for those of us that entered the Foel Fras race last weekend. This 12 mile/3100ft fell race takes in the summits of Drum, Foel Fras, Garnedd Uchaf and Moel Wnion in its lengthy journey across the northern Carneddau from the village of Aber. This year the race was characterised by strong winds, low cloud and driving rain which unfortunately peaked at the summit of Garnedd Uchaf - just in time for the crucial navigation down to the col below Moel Wnion. Cue a number of mild to middling hypothermia cases, with numerous runners going awol on these featureless slopes. So times and positions should be taken with a pinch of salt! Simon Roberts finished 12th in 2:11, with Simon Edwards 22nd in 2:20, Huw Lewis 43rd in 2:35 (alongside Paul Stinton). Jez Brown was 56th in 2:59 after a lengthy scenic tour of the higher peaks, with John Morris gradually thawing out after a cuppa.

Border league finale
I'm sure you've all seen the delayed border league results by now (if not: www.bordersleague.org.uk)
Another very successful season for our small club: winning the vets league, and coming a very respectable second in both male and female top divisions. In the men's case, Buckley finished over 1000 points ahead of third placed Wallasey, behind a very strong Eryri outfit! Well done to all.
