As always there was a good turnout for this race which marks the start of the Summer Time, although for the second year running it didn't feel like it. The weather was fine and dry and the roads were clear of snow, but there was a real chill in the air with the temperature dropping throughout the race as the sun set.
A decent turn-out from the club too. No results been published yet but Mike did 31 with Eddie just behind him, Paul D ran a very good 33.30, Margaret did just over 34 and I scraped in just under 42. John and Simon were there but I've not heard how they got on; it was too cold to stand around at the and and ask.

Borders League at Shotton
As you are aware next week is a very important event for us. On Wednesday
we are organising the 6th Race in the Borders League season at Shotton.
We have the license, First Aid is organised, the referee is ready, we know
the course and we have notified the relevant authorities (Police and Highways
department)
The start/finish is organised. And we have a list of helpers on the night.
However we are still short of a bit of help to make sure the event goes smoothly
and safely so if you are not running and are available, or if you have friends
or family who can help with car parking and marshalling on the course |I would
be very grateful.
And of course, we need a good turnout of runners too, but nobody can run
until the course is properly marshalled and safe.
Please let me know if you can help.
Tuesday is Pub night too

Vale of Clwyd 10k
Simon R won the Vale of Clwyd 10k on Sunday, but only by default as lead runner Gary Norgrove took a wrong turning. Margaret continued her blistering run of form, finishing 26th from 149 runners and easily winning her category. Mike Jones broke 40 minutes on this tough and hilly course to finish in the top 10.
1. Simon R, 36.03
10. Mike J, 39.59
26, Margaret L, 43.41

Double header for Jez
Jez Brown placed third in two consecutive fell races at the weekend, suggesting he is moving back to top form in time for the summer hill running season. The races were Llantisilio (Sat) and the new Bwlch Maesgwm (Sun). I haven't seen the results, and there were likely to be more Buckley Runners involved, esp on Saturday, so please add to this post if so.
Marsh Tracks 5k
A sharp wind made life difficult on this track circuit in Rhyl, but it didn't affect Margaret or John, both of whom had excellent runs and won their cAtegories.
