The race at the Waverton venue was probably the best turnout ever of Buckley Runners at a Border League with 21 men and 7 ladies. It was great to see so many out, with so many good performances. It was delightful to see Mark Pares and Chris Wilman running in their first league race.
Some fine performances on this fast course saw Buckley men in second place (390 points) close behind Wirral on 353. Both clubs have a significant lead over West Cheshire with 631 points. The ladies were a strong fourth, in a close competition and the veterans 6th.
The individual results are listed below. Congratulations on a fine effort all round.
Rob.

Looks promising in all categories this year, well done all. The field seemed huge - is 320+ a record?

It is very promising.
ReplyDeleteThe field was 322, it beat the previous largest of 299 in 2005, and 296 in 2008. And it was a quality field too. Good for the league too. We will have to keep up the effort. But the result shows it is do-able!!

So nice to see so many Buckley vests at the start line. Just to let everyone know the next Border League is being put on by Wallasey on the 15th November. See you there. Fen
ReplyDeleteGreat race, lovely route and weather - shame it was too quick to admire the scenery really. Looking forward to the Wallasey race.
ReplyDeleteWell you shouldn't run that fast ! Come & join the slow boys down the field, then you can enjoy the view !!
